1 What is M·A·C Lover?

M·A·C Lover is M·A·C’s consumer loyalty program, a romance with rewards for the lover, devoted and downright obsessed.

2 Who is eligible to join the Program?

The Program is available to individuals who are legal residents of Canada (including its territories and possessions) and at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence and who provide and maintain a valid email address are eligible to become members.. Employees of M·A·C Cosmetics and M·A·C PRO members are not eligible to participate in the Program. No purchase is necessary to join the Program. The Program may not be used for any business or commercial purpose.

3 How do I join the Program?

You can join the Program by signing up with an Artist in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada, or at maccosmetics.ca. You will need to provide your full name, postal code and email address. If signing up online, you will need to create a password and agree to the M·A·C Lover Terms and Conditions. In order to access certain Program benefits and rewards, you will also need to provide us with your birthday (day and month) but this information is optional.

When you sign-up to be a member of the Program, you will receive M·A·C Lover member-only benefits and offers by marketing email (including a complimentary birthday gift).

If you do not wish to receive these M·A·C Lover marketing emails, you can manage your email preferences in your M·A·C Cosmetics account profile online or unsubscribe using  the link at the bottom of each M·A·C Lover marketing email.

If you opt out of receiving M·A·C Lover marketing emails, you will continue to receive M∙A∙C Lover transactional emails. These are sent a few times a year to notify you of your points balance or loyalty membership changes. If you decide to opt-out of the M∙A∙C Lover Program, you will no longer receive M∙A∙C Lover transactional emails.

4 How does the Program work?

The M·A·C Lover Loyalty Program has three tiers – Lover, Devoted and Obsessed. For the year in which you enroll in the Program, Tiers are based on your calendar year spend on qualifying products and services, commencing with the first date after your enrollment on which you make a qualifying purchase using your Program membership identification number, and ending on December 31 of that calendar year.

After your first year, tiers are based on calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31) spend. Your status in a particular tier is good for the calendar year in which you qualify for that tier and the following full calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31). After that, you’ll need to spend enough on eligible purchases to qualify for that tier each year. For example, if you qualify for Tier 2, Devoted, during your first year, you’ll maintain Devoted status during your second year. But, if you spend less than CAD $150 on qualifying purchases during your second year, you’ll drop back down to Tier 1, Lover status in January. The more you purchase, the more covetable privileges you earn and the higher you climb in our three elite tiers.

You are able to earn points by making eligible purchases or taking certain other Program actions. You will receive 1 point for every CAD $1 spent on qualifying purchases in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada or at maccosmetics.ca and in addition to these purchases, we may offer more ways to earn and/or accelerate your points from time to time.

At different point levels and based on the total number of points you have accumulated in a calendar year, you will be able to redeem your points for rewards in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada or at maccosmetics.ca. Eligible purchases include priced merchandise and do not include purchases that contain only Gift Cards, sales tax, discounts, donations, shipping and delivery charges, and/or other excluded charges specified by us from time-to-time and certain charitable products where funds are donated to charitable organizations.

Each year on January 1, your M·A·C Lover spend and points reset to zero.

5 HOW DO I EARN POINTS?

To earn points, you must be enrolled in M·A·C LOVER LOYALTY PROGRAM.

You must also: be signed into your online account at maccosmetics.ca at the time purchase or provide your registered email address to an Artist in any M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated retail store in Canada.

M·A·C LOVER members receive 1 point for every CAD $1 spent on qualifying purchases in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada or at maccosmetics.ca. Qualifying purchases include regular priced merchandise and services, and exclude gift cards, sales tax, shipping charges, delivery charges or other excluded charges and/or purchases specified by us from time-to-time, including, but not limited to, certain charitable products where funds are donated to M·A·C Viva Glam Fund or any other charitable organization, value sets, Lovers premium products and services, and other specified products.

Members will not receive points or benefits from retail purchases made at department stores, specialty stores, stores not solely owned and operated by M·A·C Cosmetics, airports and M·A·C Cosmetics retail stores outside of Canada.

In addition to these purchases, we may offer more ways to earn and/or accelerate your points from time to time and the details on that will be provided when the time comes.

All points are pending until your order ships, at which time they are fully matured.

6 HOW DO I REDEEM MY POINTS ONLINE?

To redeem your benefits and points online, you must be enrolled in M·A·C LOVER LOYALTY PROGRAM and signed into your online account at maccosmetics.ca at the time you redeem.

You will find the rewards listed in your personal account. Rewards can only be redeemed when making a qualifying purchase at maccosmetics.ca. When making a qualifying purchase on maccosmetics.ca you can redeem one reward and/or offer per transaction at checkout.

We reserve the right to make certain rewards or offers redeemable only in-store or online depending on the offering.

7 HOW DO I REDEEM  MY POINTS IN-STORE?

To redeem your benefits and/or points in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated retail store in Canada, you must be enrolled in M·A·C LOVER LOYALTY PROGRAM and provide your registered email address to an Artist. Points can’t be redeemed at department stores, specialty stores, stores not solely owned and operated by MAC and airport locations. You also can’t exchange them for cash. 

You will find the rewards listed on your MAC Lover Account page online at maccosmetics.ca.

You can redeem as many rewards as you have points available and redeem multiple different products (limit to one of the same product). You do not need to make a qualifying purchase to redeem a reward.

We reserve the right to make certain rewards or offers redeemable only in-store or online depending on the offering.

8 LET’S TALK EXCLUSIONS. WHAT KINDS OF PURCHASES DON’T QUALIFY FOR M·A·C LOVER PROGRAM?

Purchases made in department stores, specialty stores, stores not solely owned and operated by M·A·C Cosmetics, and M·A·C Cosmetics retail stores outside of Canada are not eligible for the Program

P.S. The following can’t be used to rack up M·A·C LOVER points, benefits and rewards:
• Gift cards
• Certain limited edition charity products, such as Viva Glam products
• Sales tax
• Shipping charges
• Delivery charges
• Other exclusions as specified by M·A·C from time to time

9 WHY HAVE MY POINTS DISAPPEARED?

When you redeem your points for product rewards, the available points in your account will decrease based on the amount of points you redeemed.

You must redeem your available points prior to December 31, or the available rewards will expire. On January 1 of each year, your points and spend reset to 0 and you start accumulating new points and earning new rewards.

11 HOW DO I EARN PROGRAM BENEFITS?

No purchase is required to join the Program. When you join the Program, you are automatically placed in the Lover tier and qualify for Lover benefits.

Some Program benefits require a purchase to qualify for the benefit. Purchases of CAD $150 or more in a calendar year are required to advance to the Devoted tier and qualify for Devoted benefits. Purchases of CAD $500 or more in a calendar year are required to advance to the Obsessed tier and qualify for Obsessed benefits.

To earn Program benefits, you must be enrolled in the Program, you must provide your registered email address at the time of the purchase, and purchases must be made on qualifying products or services in M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated retail stores in Canada, or on maccosmetics.ca. Qualifying purchases include regular priced merchandise and services, and exclude gift cards, sales tax, shipping charges, delivery charges or other excluded charges and/or purchases specified by us from time-to-time, including, but not limited to, certain charitable products where funds are donated to M·A·C Viva Glam Fund or any other charitable organization, value sets, select premium products and services, and other specified products.

12 DO MY POINTS, TIER BENEFITS AND TIER STATUS EVER EXPIRE?

Tier benefits are valid for as long as you are in a specific tier. If you move down a tier, your benefits change accordingly.

Each year on January 1, your M·A·C Lover spend and points resets to zero. While your spending and points resets each calendar year, your tier status is determined by the amount you spent on qualifying purchases in the prior calendar year of membership. Your status in a particular tier is good for the year in which you qualify for that tier and the following full year. After that, you’ll need to spend enough to qualify for that tier each year. For example, if you qualify for Tier 2, Devoted, during your first year, you’ll maintain Devoted status during your second year. But, if you spend less than CAD $150 on qualifying purchases during your second year, you’ll drop back down to Tier 1, Lover status in January.

13 HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY PURCHASES TO ACCRUE TO MY ACCOUNT?

It may take up to 7 days for eligible purchases and other Program activities to post to your account.

14 I NEED TO RETURN A PRODUCT OR CANCEL AN ORDER. WHAT HAPPENS TO MY POINTS?

If you return or cancel an order, the points you received from that order will be decreased appropriately. If you moved up to a new level on that order, you’ll be back where you started once the return or cancellation is complete. Heads up: you can also lose points and decrease your level if you’ve moved up through fraudulent activity or anything else that violates the M·A·C LOVER Terms & Conditions.

15 HOW DO I CHECK MY ACCOUNT STATUS AND TRACK MY POINTS?

Your membership level and account status are accessible in your account online, with an Artist in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada or by calling the Customer Service at 1.800.387.6707.

16 HOW DO I IDENTIFY MYSELF IN STORE?

You identify your M·A·C Lover membership by providing your email address to an Artist in any M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated retail store in Canada..

17 WHAT IS BACK-TO-M·A·C EXPANDED?

Because we share your commitment to the environment, M·A·C Cosmetics accepts returns of its primary packaging through the Back to M·A·C Program. As a M·A·C Lover member, by returning 6 M·A·C Cosmetics primary packaging containers to a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada (excluding airport locations) or M·A·C Cosmetics online, you’ll receive a free M·A·C Cosmetics Lipstick, Lipglass or Single Eye Shadow (up to CAD $24) of your choice as our thanks to you (does not include special deco packaged products or Viva Glam products). Products provided at no charge cannot be returned or exchanged.

18 WHAT IS THE BACK-TO-M·A·C TRACKER?

To make participating in the Back-to-M·A·C program easier for you, M·A·C can collect M·A·C Lover members primary packaging as you go. This means you can return, 1, 2 or more primary packages to a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada (excluding airport locations) and we’ll track them until you reach 6 and qualify for a complimentary Back-to-M·A·C product. Once you have reached 6, you can come into a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada (excluding airport locations), and you’ll receive a free M·A·C Cosmetics Lipstick, Lipglass or Single Eye Shadow of your choice (up to CAD $24) as our thanks to you. (Does not include special deco packaged products or Viva Glam products). Products provided at no charge cannot be returned or exchanged.

19 HOW DO I REDEEM MY M·A·C COSMETICS BIRTHDAY GIFT?

M·A·C Lover Devoted and Obsessed members receive a special gift every year in their birthday month, if they have provided their birth date in their account profile. You can redeem your birthday gift in a M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada by providing your M·A·C Lover member identification number or email address. Or, you can redeem your birthday gift by making a purchase on maccosmetics.ca and selecting your birthday gift offer, which will be visible in your M·A·C Lover account or at checkout. Birthday gifts must be redeemed during your birthday month. For example, if your birth date is October 13, you must redeem your gift between October 1 and October 31, otherwise the offer will expire. A limit of one birthday gift per member per year will be offered and birthday gifts cannot be transferred, delayed, exchanged or returned. Specific birthday gift rewards may vary based on location and are subject to store/website availability. Please note that you must contact Customer Service at 1.800.387.6707 or email MAConlineService@maccosmetics.ca in order to change the birthday associated with your M·A·C Lover account.

20 WHAT IS MY PREFERRED STORE?

Your preferred store is the store you have selected as your favorite and most often visited M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated store in Canada. You can update your preferred store in your account on the M·A·C Cosmetics website. By selecting your preferred store we can send you updates and invitations exclusively for that store.

21 HOW DO I RECEIVE MY COMPLIMENTARY EXPRESS SHIPPING?

For Obsessed member express shipping benefits, a minimum purchase of CAD $65 is required to qualify for complimentary Express Shipping. Your complimentary Express Shipping for online shopping is applied when you login to your M·A·C Cosmetics account and you select Express Shipping in the checkout. Complimentary Express Shipping is limited to 10 times per calendar year and cannot be combined with certain promotional offers. See details of each promotional offer for more information.

22 WHAT ARE PRE-SHOP COLLECTIONS?

Exclusively for our Obsessed and Devoted members, from time to time you will be offered early access to shop select collections and collaborations before they are offered for sale to the public. Qualifying members will receive email invites when these offers are made available. Members must login to their accounts to redeem this benefit. These offers are available for a limited time and quantities are limited.

23 HOW DO I MANAGE MY M·A·C COSMETICS CANADA EMAILS?

Marketing email from M·A·C Cosmetics Canada keep you updated about the latest collections, events and offers from M·A·C Cosmetics and much more. You can manage your email preferences in your M·A·C Cosmetics account profile online and from the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each M·A·C Cosmetics Canada marketing email. You will continue to receive transactional emails from M·A·C Cosmetics Canada as well as other email you have signed-up to receive. If you are a member of the M·A·C Lover Program, you may continue to receive M·A·C Lover emails until the time that you opt-out of those emails specifically.

24 HOW DO I MANAGE MY M·A·C LOVER EMAILS?

25 HOW DO I UPDATE THE INFORMATION I PROVIDED TO ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM?

You can update your information by logging into your account online in the profile section or by informing an Artist in-store. Please note that you must contact Customer Service at 1.800.387.6707 or email MAConlineService@maccosmetics.ca in order to change the birthday associated with your M·A·C Lover account.

26 WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGOT MY PASSWORD?

You can reset your password by selecting ‘Forgot Password’ at the login page

27 WHAT DO I DO IF I BELIEVE THAT A PURCHASE OR OTHER PROGRAM ACTIVITY WAS NOT PROPERLY CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT?

28 HOW WILL M·A·C COSMETICS USE THE INFORMATION I PROVIDE TO ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM?

Unless you already opted in to additional and other uses of the information you provided at the time you enrolled in the Program, your information will be used to provide you with services and offers related to the Program including identifying your membership to provide you with a program tier and corresponding benefits. You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.

29 WHAT AM I AGREEING TO BY JOINING THE PROGRAM?

By becoming a Program Member, you agree that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the Program TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION and by any changes or modifications we may make.

30 WHAT TERMS GOVERN THE PROGRAM?

31 DOES MY MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM EVER EXPIRE?

Membership will expire if a member has not redeemed or made a purchase for a period of 24 months or more. You can reactive your account after this period by logging into your account.

32CAN MY MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM BE TERMINATED?

M·A·C Cosmetics, in its sole discretion, can terminate any Member for any reason including, but not limited to, any failure to comply with the Program TERMS AND CONDITIONS  and/or our website terms and conditions.

33WHAT HAPPENS TO ANY REWARDS I HAVE EARNED IF MY MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM IS TERMINATED OR EXPIRES?

If your membership is terminated or expires, any rewards, points or benefits in your account will automatically terminate.

34CAN THE PROGRAM BE TERMINATED?

Yes. We may, in our discretion, cancel, modify, restrict or terminate the Program or any aspect or feature of the Program at any time without prior notice, even though such changes may affect the value of rewards, points or benefits already accumulated or earned and/or the ability to redeem accumulated rewards, points or benefits.

35WHAT HAPPENS TO ANY REWARDS I HAVE EARNED IF THE PROGRAM IS TERMINATED?

If the Program is terminated, your rewards and benefits will automatically terminate. We will advise Members of the effective date of termination of the Program, rewards and benefits.

36HOW DO I TERMINATE MY PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP IF I NO LONGER WISH TO PARTICIPATE?

If you decide you no longer want to be a part of the Program, you can opt-out in your account on the website or by informing an Artist at any M·A·C Cosmetics owned and operated retail store in Canada.
